He didn't expect to have company just magically appear but he couldn't say he it wasn't a pleasant surprise. He smelled someone else and his head turned, ears flicking back to listen as the female came closer. He looked her over, not sure if he trusted her. She was every bit a predator in build and he knew the kinds of wolves that likes to stick to the free lands. But she didn't act hostile so his fur stayed smooth as she approached. She looked him over and then said that she would go for the predator. He glanced back toward the panther, lifting a brow. He'd never eaten predator flesh before. She sounded like she knew plenty about the taste, though. "Firsthand experience, right?" He murmured back, glancing over to meet her gaze as she crouched beside him.

Of course, the female wasn't patient, it would seem. She said she wasn't waiting all day and then before he could form words, she coiled and launched forward, heading right for the panther and she looked like she was already having a blast. There was a grin on her face that spoke volumes as she closed in on the big cat, but Exodus knew she might not get far if she was by herself. With a heavy sigh, he launched forward too. He couldn't just stand by and watch her get hurt. The doe spooked as two wolves broke out of the brush and she turned tail, limping away as fast as she could get. That left the panther to turn its full attention on the two new pieces in the game. The female wolf launched for the panther's neck and as the panther turned to slash at her with its giant claws, Exodus jumped in, aiming for the panther's meaty flanks.

He knew it wouldn't be a fatal bite but it was more about distracting the panther at this point, breaking skin and causing pain so she wouldn't aim all her rage at the other wolf. He also knew he couldn't hang around long cause the panther would be turning on him as soon as it felt his fangs. He made sure to make it count though, grabbing as much flesh and muscle as he could and biting deep, tasting copper in his mouth before he released. He drew back just in time, the claws catching in his thick fur and ripping some out. He cringed away, but his gaze met the female, letting her know he would support her if she still wanted to take the panther out. He tried to keep the panther's attention until she attacked again, pacing and jumping and barking, baring his fangs at the cat and snarling, making her think he was the greater threat. Once the female wolf attacked again though, he darted in low, trying to catch the panther's back leg so he could literally drag him to the ground. If he caught the panther by surprise, he should be able to use his own size to help pull the big cat off balance.
