The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

He had a good childhood for the most part before all hell broke loose. He had an arrogant brother who cared more about his own vanity than anything else and a sister who talked to flowers but there was love in that family. His parents loved each other. His father was a talker, a diplomat in nature and his gentle hearted mother was a spy but she was the kindest wolf he'd ever known. But all that changed when his brother was murdered. His mother snapped and suddenly his family was no more. His sister went off who knows where and his father...well, he had no idea what happened to him but he had every reason to believe his mom was dead. She went on a rampage to find the one who killed Xerxes. He had little doubt that she found who she was looking for...but he was betting it didn't end the way she planned.

The words of the wolf across from him brought him out of his memory daze. He narrowed his eyes and growled. Everything about him concerns her? What the hell? "You don't know me. You mean nothing to me. I mean nothing to you. Don't pretend otherwise." He could see the challenge in her eyes and he shrank back against the skull. No, he wouldn't rise to it. What was the point? He didn't have a death wish, no matter ho much time he spent with the dead. He wasn't his mother. She told him she could show him a good time, that she could show him how much of a lady she really was. She was even moaning. His brow lifted and his lip curled up, his snargle fang poking out even more. "As.....fun as that sounds, I'll take a hard pass." He mumbled.

The female seemed less thrilled when he told her he was suffering her presence. She said she could rectify it but it was going to end the same for him. His ears flattened to his skull at the brash threat. So she wanted him dead? Just great. Leave it to him to make friends. His eyes narrowed more at her. "I choose my own fate. And I'm no fucking lamb." He snarled the last words, his tail flicking behind him. Sure, he didn't have much for size but that didn't mean he had to lay down and take the insults. She could think of him what she wanted but he wouldn't be called something so weak and helpless as a baby sheep. Not if he could help it. When she attacked, he froze, but he would learn from that mistake. His leg was bleeding now but it would stop. At least it didn't feel broken but it still hurt like hell.

When he bit down on her scruff for some relief, she only purred that she liked it. He bit down harder, just trying to get her to shut the hell up. She pulled away but he felt the fur come away in his teeth. He spit it out with a disgusted sound before a feral sound ripped from his chest when he saw her holding Xerxes' skull. How dare she! She mocked him with it, but he launched himself at her, running on pure instinct. As he ran at her, she suddenly went up and at first he thought she was just trying to get away from his attack but with a wide horrified look in his eyes, he saw that she was trying to hurt the skull, his brother! "NO!" He roared the word as he launched himself at her. He heard the crack of the skull on the ground right as his body collided with hers.

She went tumbling back while the skull went in another direction. He didn't even look at her, skidding back around to run back to Xerxes, checking it over. Thankfully the skull was still fresh enough not to be too brittle. The bottom part of the jaw had cracked and half of it had come apart from the top part of the skull. Some teeth had been dislodged with the slamming motion to the ground. Overall, it could have been a lot worse. But the damage weighed heavily on Fen. He couldn't even protect his brother after his death. What good was he? He vaguely heard her say "again" but he was seeing red. When the female lunged again, he snarled and rushed her again, aiming to throw his full weight into her again but this time he snapped his jaws, trying to grab her neck or leg if he hit. "Leave him alone!"
