Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Her crying seemed to go on forever, as if she had been holding it in for years, and she had. Well… not exactly years, but a very long time. She had kept her chin up during her adversity in her home pack but the fear that they were going to kill her caused her to flee. And now she was here… in a foreign land… lost in a blizzard. What had she done to deserve this? Besides being in the wrong place at the wrong time and earning a one way ticket to… whatever this place was called. She hadn’t done anything to earn death yet.

The tears that were running down her snout were starting to freeze onto her fur, chilling her skin even more, and creating glistening particles of ice. She lifted a snow-covered paw to try and wipe it off but it did nothing more than add more of it to her face. This was just terrible! She quickly shook herself and began to hunker back down before she felt someone’s small, cold nose pressed against her rib. The touch only lasted a millisecond but it was enough to send a shiver through her small body. Her head whips around to see a large gray and black boy bounding in the opposite direction. At this point snow had begun to cake onto her back and further exasperate the coldness that was settling in, it was no time for games.

But he didn’t appear to be playing a game, as he hid behind the large trunk of a tree, dropping what appeared to be a very fluffy snake on the ground. His boyish voice reaches her ears through the blustering wind and she pins them back, scoffing at him. ”I know and I’m lost!” she yells above the wind in a tiny voice. He doesn’t seem to care about the storm, not one bit! Why is he so calm? Is it because he is so much bigger than her? Do bigger pups have this natural ability to keep calm in an emergency? It’s pretty clear that she was going to die out here before he came along!

The dark boy comes toward her again with more curiosity this time as he does a thorough inspection. How he is able to smell anything without digging his nose into her fur is a mystery to her. She couldn’t tell which direction was which, much less how to smell her way out of here. She watches as he circles around her front, her ice blue eyes picking up on the striped scars on his legs. She wanted to know how he got them but first she needed to get out of this gosh darned wind. ”H-h-how about we go over to your tree?” she manages to stammer with chattering teeth.
