Ah, it appears as if the girl had some sense for she followed right after Nyteshade, even if she had a sort of bewildered look on her face. It makes Shade grin to see it. A shiver works it's way through his body but despite the way his body trembles violently for a moment, he gives it no notice. Such is the natural order of things. Besides, his attention is fully upon the tiny girl. How is she so SMALL? For a moment he cocks his head, pondering. Blackthorne scathingly told him just yesterday how little Nyteshade was. Something about malnourished, needs to eat, blah blah blah. Food just didn't taste like something he needed or wanted half the time and besides, there were far more fascinating things. Like blood and it's coppery taste. Or the taste of decay.
"Lost? What is lost?" He had never asked what that word meant. Had he even heard it? Strange. She was strange. All he can smell is the sharp scent of snow, ice, and wet fur without getting too close and his nose smarts from the deep inhales. What a pity, well, he would figure more out later. It wasn't like she was going anywhere and he wasn't too keen to get back to his Pa just yet. She doesn't try to bite him or smack him, which he half expects, his body ready to bolt to the side if so. It wouldn't deter him for long if she did anyways. Nyteshade was too taken with her, there was no getting away now.
Her suggestion is met with a frown then a nod, as if he had to contemplate such a drastic decision. He steps past her to grab his silver fox tail before moving to the base of the large tree. It's roots had come up from the ground long ago which offered a small but cozy space to hide from the raging winter. He sits down with a considerable lack of grace before dropping the fox tail again. "If you are cold you can lean against me. That is how we used to stay warm when I was with my sister." Now he frowns in earnest. Where was Talon anyways? Did she wonder about him? Or mother? Or Belladona for that matter? It was nothing to fret over, he decides, for Blackthorne intended to take them 'home' in the morning.
"Why are you so small? Are you new to this place?" By place he means
