Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

Gwyneira

Causes are only lost when people give up – Lucy Lawless

For her entire life, ever since she had become a sentient being with her ears capable of hearing and her optics capable of sight, she had had a single goal - to defeat her brother in Mortal Kombat. That, in and of itself, spoke to how unique of a creature she was. She was focused, which is rarely found in a pup. She was a good student, and loved to learn, her mind brilliant in the way it worked out problems, and the way it solved puzzles. Each lesson, she truly took to heart, but not just her own, no. Always, she and Sergei had trained together, her mother giving her pointers at times, and Sergei pointers at other times. Not only did this make her stronger warrior, but a better opponent. Over time, she had learned her brother’s weaknesses, the chinks in his armor that she would ram up against with all of her might in order to destroy him. And so, she had known that it would come to this, a game of cat and mouse where she would have to hunt him down in order to slay him. Yes, he was her brother, her blood, her kin, but he was also her opponent, her enemy, and the only thing standing in her way from claiming her life as her own. That was exactly what she was fighting for - her life. And the only way to do that, was to be the best that she could be, and obviously, be better than her brother. They had learned the same lessons, the same attacks, the same defenses. In order to be the winner, she would have to do something different, something he would not be expecting.

Gwyneira had first covered her scent with that of the forest so that the sea could not be tasted upon her anymore. But that was as far she went in terms of camouflage. She would force it to be a battle of skill, force it to be a fight out in the open no matter how hard he tried to hide. And hide he would – surely he knew what this would come down to… But Gwyneira’s plan was to prevent him from hiding. Her way of doing that was with something perhaps her mother would never have done nor ever thought to do. Because it was not the way of the warrior - it was not bad at all, but it always was not based on physical skill, but rather, it was on cunning. Many times, the mother had left them with the vampire Macaria, a strange, unique wolf who led the path of a healer. But healers were not so simple as that - no. Their skill was in their knowledge of the body, and in their knowledge of herbs. And it was that knowledge that Gwyneira used now. It was only fitting that they were in the forest, for it gave her such a pallet of plants to choose from. And as she tracked her brother, a little buzzing thrum entered her ears, and a cruel smile spread across her lips. It became clear, very clear now, how she would draw her brother out. And… It would be torturous.

Gwyn marked up her spot, before flaring her nares to track down two very strong and particular scents. The first was easier to find - peppermint. It was a small but common plant, that laid close to the floor of the forest, but it grew in wide patches, and Gwyneira rolled in it before also chewing upon the plant. Now, the second scent was hard to find, harder still because of the overwhelming aroma painted thickly upon her pelt. But when she finally found the spice, she dashed it across her back before trotting leisurely back toward where the dangerous drone had entered her auditories. And, glancing at a nearby, low hanging branch, she saw her target - a beehive. In one of the random lessons with Macaria, where they weren’t forced to really pick up anything, Gwyn had come to find out that peppermint and cinnamon were natural repellents of the stinging insects. It was nearly night now, and that along with the cold air of the season meant the bees would be quieter, less aggressive… But Gwyneira’s plan was to mix that all up. She stood up on her haunches and as gently as she could, broke the branch in order to pluck the nest out of the air. She could hear their wings fluttering, feel the reverberations in her mouth, and without hesitation she began to track down her brother. As smoothly as she could, she traveled over the boulders, leaping smoothly, not allowing the weight of the hive to offset her balance. And finally, when his scent grew strong, she peered about, looking for him. As expected, he had blended himself in with the surroundings, but she had a general idea of where he lay in wait. Without a moment of hesitation, she used all of the strength in her neck to hurl the hive toward him. The hive ruptured into a thousand pieces, and the once docile bees were now enraged at the destruction of their home and the ruin of their food source. Hundreds of insects swarmed, seeking out their prey, and Gwyneira held her breath – she was nearly invisible to them, and would wait until the cloud abated before she attacked.
