He was feeling...invigorated after his time with Inara. Sure, she wasn't exactly willing, but she would listen and stay put in Asteraia until a litter was born. He did fear his mortality in this age and of course, there was the tiny little doubt of shooting blanks but he wasn't going to think about that. He would have confidence in his virility and not question the fates. There was a reason his alpha gave him a gift this winter. He would have a child, or children, and they would be great, just as he was meant to be. He only hoped they had his ambition. He was training with his alpha as a yearling and fighting cougars for sparring practice, for goodness sake. Not everyone could brag as such. Not to mention when your alpha is only known as The Monster. Now he had another alpha with no name, at least not one she wanted to share. He had to believe it was fate or something.

He was still peeved that Belhara was lying low somewhere. She had to show her gorgeous face sometime. Their mateship still stood. He would deal with the consequences when they came if she came around when he had a little one that looked like him running around too. Maybe by then, Inara would have run off to whatever she called a sanctuary and he would be left to raise his son or daughters as he saw fit. But enough about that. He was excited to go back and see if Inara had gotten any bigger or something. Surely he should be able to tell shortly, right? Like wouldn't she get cravings or grow fat or something? He kept looking for the clues, asking if she felt anything. He tried not to let on that he wasn't exactly experienced in this whole having kids things. He'd never gotten to try with Belhara. Their first two years as mates, she's been MIA, much to his chagrine.

To get out a little restlessness when Inara once more grumbled that there was no change, he decided to make himself useful and go patrol the borders. It was on this patrol that he came across a scent from over the borders. Curious, he trotted toward it, only to find a younger male waiting patiently. He seemed to be expecting someone and yet he didn't call out so would just anyone do? He smelled of a pack so it didn't seem like he was here to join or anything. A diplomatic mission perhaps? Cuirass thought those were mostly for the alpha but he was an advisor of sorts now so he could be present too right? It was only right. He made his way closer, tail flicking behind him as he tilted his head and measured up the male. "Hey GoldEyes, something I can help you with?"
