The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

He was having problems figuring out what his next plan of action should be. He'd just been wandering around the free lands looking for his father and then his father's killer when Blackthorne found him and offered him sanctuary in a pack. Loki had started thinking about things and how power seemed like something worth going after. But then Blackthorne went MIA and another alpha took the pack. Loki slipped out with the shadows and found himself in the free lands again. Now he didn't have a nephew or any family members around that he knew of unless he ran across Enderly's killer again. At least Blackthorne had let on that she was a relative as well. He wondered if he would ever come across the male who controlled her, his own half brother, Underidge.

A little bit of his thoughts went to the other half brother he'd actually met, the younger one who had a scar on his eye and had identified Enderly's killer for him at a big gathering. Where had that boy gotten to? Did someone kill him? Did he go into hiding? At this point, the boy was his only connection to his family. But he wasn't going to hunt Shadow down. He had other things in mind. He still needed to find someone to study. He needed to learn more about emotions and how to fake them. He probably should had done this at a much younger age but he had other things on his mind when he reached puberty. Once he killed the female he was intimate with, his priorities changed and he knew he needed to change how he blended into this world.

Hearing a familiar howl wasn't his plan for the day but he'd take it. His ears flicked and he moved toward the sound. Once he picked up on Shadow's trail, it was pretty easy to make his way to the Grotto. He stopped at the entrance, squinting his eyes to look into the darkness. Snorting, he rolled his shoulders and moved into the cavern system. He was careful with his steps, blinking to let his eyes adjust as he moved further in. He still smelled Shadow so he trusted his sense of smell. When he thought he saw a smaller figure ahead, he spoke, his voice echoing in the cavern. "You rang?"
