Dear Dave

I am just writing to you with a massive big thank you to you and your fellow Fusiliers for helping to make my father's funeral one to be remembered. I can't thank you all enough, for you taking the flag and beret to the Funeral Directors and for the Fusiliers who turned up at the cemetery. When we first turned in the cemetery and I saw the 4 standard bearers there who marched down to the chapel in front of the hearse I broke my heart, it was so overwhelming and then when we got to the chapel there were another 8 of them making a guard of honour, it even makes me fill up now writing this to you, I will never, ever forget their kindness in sparing the time to attend and even though you say you are all brothers in arms this was done for someone they didn't know personally. I do hope you will let them all know how very grateful I am .

I received your correspondence yesterday and that is also really lovely another thank you for that, I will treasure the booklet for ever. With regards to dad's ashes I have always said that when dad went I would take his and mum's ashes over to the Isle of Man where we have family and mum, dad and I spent many a very happy holiday there. My cousins are all still living over there so in the new year we will be going over there and scattering their ashes together in one of their favourite places.

Dave, if there is anything I can do to repay all the kindness shown to us, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help if I can.

God bless you all and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

Love Christine x
