Selene should have been startled by the woman that rushed toward her. She was a stranger, far larger than the moonscorned herself. It didn’t matter. There was something gentle, something full of softness and light as the woman approached. Selene was grateful for her closing the gap, especially as she shivered in her smooth pelt. This was not the time to have come across the sea, but the things behind her didn’t care. The things that… they couldn’t still be chasing her, right? This stranger, this stranger was not one of them.
The moonscorned shivered softly as the red lady cared for her, feeling her warmth start to overtake the cold. Unfreezing her bones, that would be… a feat. ”T-thank you,” Selene’s voice was shaky and quiet, but rung like a small bell from her chest. Silvery and careful, her words were unsteady. Slowly, she was able to adjust and get her bearings back. The moonscorned tucked against the larger woman, doing her best to breathe.
”W-where are we?” Her teeth were still chattering, but it was an important question. An explorer, a mapmaker, a creature that prided herself so heavily on always knowing the answer… she was out of her element. To be somewhere so entirely new? That was nearly out of the question for Selene. Though she’d barely washed up on the shore of this new place, the search for knowledge had already overtaken her mind.
