The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

She’s swift of foot and keen of eye. It’s what makes her a good explorer, it’s what makes her incredible at what she does. Selene was never going to be anything else, so it really didn’t matter if she was good or not. An entire lifetime to perfect your craft, that’s what grandad always said. He… he’d been the best at what he did, too. He’d raised so many of them, anyone who needed it. Selene had needed him, and he’d been there. There was something incredible about that. With a pang in her chest, she realized just how much she missed him.

The best thing to do was honor him now. Live life to the fullest, do everything in her power to be phenomenal. Be the go anywhere, do anything she was meant to be. Learn every inch of every land, and… and make him proud. That was the idea, right?

So she would learn these caves, but not stray too far from the surface today. Things were interesting down here, and warmed than on the surface. A break from the wind was nice. The moonscorned would make her home down here for the evening, staying safe from the world above.

The moonscorned was not alone. There was someone else down here, someone who called out. Her tail wagged softly, eyes glimmering softly in the low light. ”Warmer down here than it is up there,” her voice is light, ringing out like a bell. She looks now to the stranger, head quirking softly to the side. There’s something a little awkward about Selene, but she’s friendly enough. Soft. Bright, even in the unsure darkness of the caves. ”At least it was when I came down, is it still breezy up there?” Conversation. She’s not the best at conversation. Working on it, as always.
