Re(2): Don't Let TFL Become a Target

Al,
I don't think there is any chance of a Single Payer Plan being passed anytime in the foreseeable future---with a need for sixty votes in the Senate.
However, I do think it is possible for new TFL premiums to be slipped into the National Defense Bill, particularly if it is being pushed by the Congressional Budget Office.

P.S. Here is the reply from our Republican Congressman to my letter sent to him urging no changes to TFL premiums:

"..Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about Medicare. Your thoughts on this program are valuable to me.

Medicare is a federal program that provides healthcare coverage to adults 65 years of age and older and to individuals with certain disabilities.

It is important that Americans have access to affordable healthcare. Congress must also take concrete steps to reform runaway spending in our vital healthcare programs. We must bring a sense of fiscal responsibility back to Washington. We cannot continue spending money we do not have, leaving trillions of dollars in debt for our children and grandchildren. As legislation regarding seniorís access to healthcare comes to the House floor, rest assured that I will consider it with your thoughts in mind..." (#)(!)
