Disaster has struck!
The female was very cautious of him, something he wasn't used to. Most wolves he came across in Moladian seemed so sure of themselves that they threw caution to the wind and hoped for the best. Fools, the lot of them. She was gaining his interest by the second. She knew enough not to trust right away and she was willing to back up her threats if it came down to it. He could see the resolve in her eyes. She was a survivor. She was silent for the most part, but that didn't bother him. He liked watching her for the most part. She stepped back as he came down by the pool, seemingly wanting more space to watch him. Her ears never moved and a growl slipped from her lips, a clear warning to keep that space between them. Oh, but how he was already tempted to toe that line, if only to watch her reaction. She was an intriguing creature.
When he smiled, she snarled and his eyes only twinkled with amusement. When he spoke this time, he saw the way her eyes shifted down to his lips. So definitely deaf then. There was no hesitation. It was second nature for her to watch his lips. Then she spoke, her voice rough as if she didn't use it a lot. Fascinating. He tilted his head. "Well, I have no guarantee but I can say it shouldn't be needed in this case. I am harmless, for the most part." Then she asked why he came down and his lips twitched. "To speak to you, of course. It's no fun to look down on others. I'd rather be on eye level. Wouldn't you?" He tilted his head, waiting for her response. If he had to slowly pull any information out of her that he could, he would. It wasn't like he had places to be.
