The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Was he… scared of her? Selene read his body language on the fly, trying to think of all the things Creed had taught her. A foot lifted, like he was going to step away from her. Interesting. Curious. Very curious indeed. He was much larger than she was, he had nothing to be afraid of. All Selene would be able to do is run away from him, likely very fast. She was, as a matter of fact, very fast. Not that he knew that. The awkward was setting into her brain, and she was starting to have a hard time thinking around it. No matter.

”I wouldn’t be surprised, but I haven’t studied the climate of this continent in depth yet. It’s not so different from where I came from, though. Plenty of snow to go around in the winters.” Selene’s tone is pleasant, she liked the weather. Studying weather patterns, doing her exploring, learning everything the best she could. Those were the things the old man had liked best, that and the topography. He’d done well to give her all the knowledge and information her brain longed for, and she would do her best to honor it. Maybe it was overly sentimental of her, but the moonscorned didn’t care. Sentiment was good sometimes.

”Um, I was exploring the caves too, it’s okay,” oh jeeze, what was she supposed to say? ”You’re not intruding at all, don’t worry!” Tail wagging in earnest, Selene stumbled over her words. Social interactions were hard, and she was admittedly struggling a little bit with all of it. Her tone is light, at least she has that part down. ”Are you familiar with this area?” Uh… was that even the right question to ask? It was hard to be sure, but Selene was doing her best.
