Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

There was his chuckle. It was not cruel however. Far from it really. A moment that was taken in response to her retort. Comical? No, Andreania could never say that she'd been the comical sort. Maybe as a child. That was a long time ago however and thoughts since past. A faded memory put to the back of her mind and forgotten. Perhaps rightly so as it came with a family that had left her behind. Chased her off. Taken everything she'd known and thrown her straight into the cold. A forgotten creature. Perhaps not fully forgotten by all, but by them.

She was not looking back. Why should she? They were nothing to her now. Why did it still hurt so much though? Andreania's eyes closed and she shook a moment. It was as though a shiver had run through her. That was not the case however. No, it was more than that. It was so much more. The pain stung like a bullet being lodged in her flesh. Not something she'd ever experienced though. She knew nothing about the life beyond wolves or other woodland creatures. Nothing. It was better to stay that way. That wasn't to say that she'd ever been without danger. Oh she had! Plenty of times and one of those? Well it was what cost her that family; that pack.

Andreania hadn't noticed him moving closer to her until she felt the nudge of the bird near her paws. Her eyes shot open and she studied him. There was no fear where there should have perhaps been. Uncertainty though? There was that. As far as either of them were concerned; they were still strangers. It is then that she recalls nothing of a name. Not even her own being given. No, they had not exchanged names. Perhaps it was not the moment for it though. He had not been so quick to give his own, and neither would she. Not yet.

In these moments; she waits. Andreania watches him and thoughts whir in her mind like gears of a clock turning. There is anger in his tone. It is not with her. There is anger for leaving? He said he left but that he'd made a mistake that should have cost him his life. There's a dry; lifeless chuckle then from her lips. Maybe they were not so different. Andreania and he. He had said that family was supposed to forgive one another hadn't he? Yes, Ramos had said that to her. "I guess mine never got that note." She said quietly; coldly. Not toward him, but toward the home she'd once known. The home she'd run from that is.

Fear. It had washed through her like a wildfire and she'd been so helpless to chase it away. She remembers the feeling. The rush of adrenaline as they came after her. Teeth snapping. Always, they were inches from her paws. Retorts and threats dancing through her mind. "You and I are not so different wolf." She was not blind to the tiny flaws that swam in his coat. She could tell this was a soldier; a warrior for a pack once. What had driven him away? She couldn't even begin to fathom. "My death was threatened upon me should I ever go back." All over a stupid mistake. One that normally would have cost her that life he spoke of.

"I picked a fight I had no business making. A fight I could have never won." Too bold. Too wild. That was her downfall then. She couldn't make that mistake again. Her eyes return to him then and she clears her throat. "I am Andreania, but most call me Ana." There is silence then and she waits; wondering what he'll do with all that she's said. Wondering now that she's given a name.
