Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Bird of Omens, Ill harbinger of blight

To be a descendant of the mountains one would have thought Raven tolerant of winters bite but alas with each passing year the dark male finds them more unpleasant. Over the last few weeks he has found his physical stature improving. Regular meals and a warm body to curl up with would do that he supposed. He was no where near full weight yet he had filled out impressively so and had his stamina back, however just as his size grew so did his lady’s. She was massive. Not so much in bulk but her abdomen had swollen to such a degree that she waddled when she walked. She needed more breaks when they walked, and if could swear she was more irritable than before. Of course they did not have much time together before they were separated but he just knew that she bit his head off more now and for the tiniest of things! It was frustrating! Yet he lived to see her smile.

Dropping the second dead crab next to the other he pauses, a slight salty breeze rippled through his brindled fur bringing with it the heavy scent of moisture. It was going to rain, and soon. He had better be off then, dipping his head he deftly retrieves his two snacks, before trotting off towards the den. The den had belonged to his beloveds before his arrival, but he had since then expanded it so that it could comfortably hold them both. A task that he had to take to yet again within the last few weeks. He had been careful with his expansion, not seeking Sera’s wrath should she think he thought her fat. He was creative, even carving out a little hollow to the side. A sitting area so to speak. He had filled the floor with soft bedding, forever bringing fluffy little tidbits here and there whenever he found them on his travels. It was only practical as he and Sera were aging and hard ground does not agree with bones. This Sera enjoyed. At least he thought so by the little sighs of contentment she gave each night when they snuggled down to sleep.

Once he made it home, he deposits the crustaceans by the opening before delving into it, Sera’s perfume wrapped around his bodice in welcome. He calls out her name, seeking her so that he could bathe in her presence and feed her unending hunger.
