STUCK IN YOUR WONDERLAND
Tropical heat.
He couldn’t hold back the way his skin pulled against his muscle, his entire, dark cape seeming to ripple. Ramos had never experienced it himself even in his journey to Moladion, but he had heard of it from traders who came to his homeland. They brought medicines from the far south where herbs grew that didn’t know snow. A land without snow even in summer, to him, was almost unimaginable. Thick layers of it still clung even to the southern reaches of his packs territory in colder years and the permafrost was entirely untouched in the north even in the warmest.
"That is something I’ve never known. Did you enjoy it?" He did not envy this girl for where she came from, but it made sense for her build. A smaller, lighter wolf would have the best chance of survival in a warmer climate where a larger, heavier wolf such as himself would falter. He had a feeling he would be dealing with just that here when summer came to chase away the chill and it would be a struggle for him to adapt.
Still, conversation moved on and he noticed the shuffling of the small female’s black feet against the earthen floor. His ears tilted away from her as she spoke, sympathetically, and he lowered his head a few inches. He didn’t mean to upset his company in the slightest. "I apologize if I offended you. It was nothing but an observation." His eyes darted away for a moment before returning to her mismatched ones. "I am not used to wolves of your size, even at your age."
He felt it best to leave his explanation at that and not drag on further. Even though she had kept a friendly tone, he wished not to prolong any hard feelings that she may have been hiding. Instead, he introduces a more light-hearted adventure and pace and she seems to jump at the opportunity and even started off a few paces into the cave system. After all, Ramos was fairly certain he had interrupted her exploration to begin with and followed in her footsteps. However, he wasn’t expecting her to pause to give her name and he couldn’t help but prick his ears and give a subtle flare of his nostrils when her tone changed and her words almost caught in her throat.
She hadn’t addressed to so neither would he.
"It’s a pleasure as well, Selene." He pulled up alongside her and motioned with his broad head for her to lead the way, tossing it towards the yawning darkness. "I’m not an explorer myself but you seem like one. Mind talking me through how it goes while we walk?"
