Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Bird of Omens, Ill harbinger of blight

The morning had gone exceedingly well. He had tracked down a jackrabbit within ruieze fields and the weather had been nice. Seraphina had been asleep when he had left that morning, her belly still swollen as were her paws, yet she seemed at peace. She was beautiful and Raven did not know how he had become so lucky. He was indeed grateful. So with the fluffy ivory carcass he trotted towards Glorall’s borders, allowing the salty breeze lead him home.

Midafternoon greets him when he finally reaches the beach, recalling Sera’s love for crustaceans and anticipating finding her there. Gentle anticipation vibrates within at the prospect of joining her for dinner when panic blossoms within his bosom. Raven freezes, mid step, as he frantically tries to discover the source of the unease. Finding none he abruptly does an about face, blacken paws kicking up sand in his haste to get to the den. If there was nothing physically ailing him then the only reason, he would feel this way had to be her. He had to get to her. Had to make sure that she was safe. He had to.

So terrified was he that he almost bolted into the den without a second thought. Almost. The scent of blood causes him to slide to a stop right before the entrance to his den. That and the soft mewling noises within the darkness. The mangled body of the rabbit is forgotten at the doorstep as he takes one step forward, confusion swirling within his icy eyes. ”My heart?” His voice is uncertain, tinged with apprehension and confusion. Should he continue? What could she possibly have within the den that would release such a aroma?

It was not until her soft words reach his ears that he snaps out of the reverie. Whatever she had going on he would join her and together they would deal with it. After all she had called out for him, calling him ‘dear’ in such a anxious way that how could he not go to her? Finally exiting the tunnel into the spacious abode he is met with a sight from a fantasy. Everything was a mess, their bedding spread out save for one corner where most of it was piled high into a comfortable looking bed. Within the bed lay the love of his life, her body curled up and a look of trepidation etched into her lovely face. He was by her side in a instant, only to be slapped by reality the moment he looked her over. ”My love what is wron…OH!”

For once words fail him as he zeros in on the two wiggling bundles of fur at her teats. The mewling sounds…they were pups…they had pups…. ”I am a father.” Head turns to look her in the eyes, his visage holding so much wonder he would die of it. She had made him a father, had birthed their first children…she was pregnant!!! How could he not know?! Why did he not think that he could sire a litter with her?! ”I have been so stupid, how could I not know that you were carrying our future? You did so well Sera! Look at what you did!” Leaning forward he bathes her face in kisses, making sure not to leave any part untouched by his tongue. ”What do we have? Boys? Girls? Both?! They need names. Oh Sera I love you more and more each day!” The words kept coming, he couldn’t stop the excitement from growing and spilling over into the little intimate space. He had so much to do while Sera fed and nurtured their young family. He had to find toys, new clean bedding, and food. Food! ”I have been hunting in the fields. I have found a rabbit, are you hungry love? Thirsty? I am sure I can find one of those shells to carry you water here. Just tell me what you want and it is yours.”
