The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

He had never been one for cannibalism, but that was about where he stopped in terms of his morality. Perdere had at some point or another done just about every other evil thing in the book, from torture to manipulation to lies to murder. Hell, there had even been rape a few times, but that spoke more to the way of Akuji’s people rather than to his own choices for Perdere had initially been buy a tool who did as he was told. Sexual ambiguity and polyamorous tendencies were seen as normal among his kin, and although yes, there were the occasional strong female leader, the rulers of each of the clans and the council were predominantly male. Their hierarchical society was based upon masculinity, and so when a female did make it to the top, it spoke volumes about her ruthlessness. And so, Perdere had never minded attacking a female, for he knew that she was just as likely to wound him were she have a chance. His one scrupulation was that he never injured pups - though they would surely grow up to be devils themselves, when they were pups they were given the briefest moment of naivety and innocence, and Perdere had decided that he would not be the want to steal that from them.

Luckily, there were no pups here. Which simplified everything. What complicated it though, was that recently, Perdere had done most of his torture only if there were a reason to do so. And this… Well there was no reason to kill the helpless sop that Draven had dragged in. Of course, other than for the sheer fun of it of course. What had happened? Where had his old soul gone? One who never hesitated, who snapped at every chance to harm another kalak? But… That was just it, wasn’t it? He had always enjoyed torturing maned wolves. Those had been the ones he had always been siked upon, the high-ranking alphas, the generals… Never any of the slaves made up of the subordinate species, as they were so called in Faraway. Perhaps that had been because it had stemmed from his hatred of the maned wolves - Akuji was one himself, but the maned wolves, in their experiments and manipulations, had truly created an aberration when they had split Akuji‘s mind and created Perdere. And while Perdere now enjoy controlling his own reins, he still hated the kalaks. That was the difference. That was why he was not leapt after the female to snap her neck, or just dislocate a leg, or gash open her abdomen. That was the difference… But it still begged the question, why had he had thus far allowed Shilo to live? As he glanced sideways at the weakling, a curiosity bubbled up inside of him, one that he would try to answer in the days and weeks to come, but for now he needed to prove to the Alpha that he belonged here, especially when it was so blatantly obvious that she did not. she even whispered into his shoulder a question inquiring as to whether they were staying, and Perdere nodded sharply, glaring at her, a warning to remain silent.

Perdere turned his focus back to the writhing sheet of body upon the earth, waiting to see if she would turn into a vampire or not, and to his surprise, she did. He ignored the others and focused... Her fangs elongated, her lids shot open wide and revealed crimson pools instead of their previous color. But it would do no good if she were to wound Sindicate, so Perdere leapt in, before she had fully recovered, clamped down, his own jaws enclircling hers and then he clamped down as hard as he could, fracturing her jaw bones so that she would not be able to open her mouth. It was essentially a death sentence for her, for she would be unable to eat, but he highly doubted that she was going to survive the day anyway. Silently, he raised his eyes to the Alpha, and holding Sindicate‘s gaze he backed up, allowing Sindicate‘s focus to shift to the fallen lupine, giving him the room should he so desire to taste it.
