STUCK IN YOUR WONDERLAND
He had been largely quiet and observant in his time with Asteraia. This ordeal was a wake-up call and something he had to be on-guard and cautious with. It didn’t seem they wanted to harm him, but he wasn’t going to test that theory. He wasn’t going to risk his well-being in order to see what kind of wolves he was dealing with. Ramos knew he was going to be back out in the world as a loner sooner or later and going out with a fresh injury was a death sentence even in the spring.
His shoulder gave him enough issues, something he was diligent in hiding from these wolves despite the pain it sometimes caused him. It ached in the morning from lack of use and his nervous habit of over grooming himself wasn’t helping. His tongue had explored every inch of his body it could over a hundred times now and each hair was carefully placed time and time again. The cream brute had even used his paws to groom the hard to reach places after meticulously cleaning the pads and in between his toes. If one had seen a cat groom themselves, they might see the resemblance in the movements the wolf used to try and calm himself. The snow wasn’t as bad as these rains were and even if he wasn’t neurotically grooming himself to soothe, he was to dry his fur.
Restlessness, however, was something he couldn’t get over by grooming. His incredibly pale paws were itching for another purpose. He was tired of being stuck in his mind, being stuck doing nothing, being stuck here. Ramos was determined to find the alpha and seek... something. A way out? A compromise? He wasn’t confident he would find her so close to where he was allowed to roam as she seemed to be quite active. He never saw her for more than a few moments and he had never tried to intercept her in case she retaliated.
Today, he was at least going to try. Whether or not she turned on him for what he wanted to propose was a different story. But he needed to try. He needed a purpose.
Under the fading light, Ramos inched away from his guard towards the last place he had seen the massive she-wolf disappear over the hills in her obsessive missions. She seemed to have been heading for the shoreline, but for what purpose he was unsure. Glancing back at his silent watcher, the cream brute gave him a stiff nod before turning back towards this strange alpha and let out a low howl in attempt to call her back for an audience. He was careful to not let it carry too far as he didn’t want his business to be broadcast beyond the pack. He wasn’t sure if anyone beyond Asteraia knew of his whereabouts and he planned to keep that to himself and wolves who called it home for the time being.
With his purpose made clear, his felt more comfortable in moving from where he had been holed up. Ramos could still feel the eyes of the wolf charged with keeping him tonight burning his blushed haunches but he was set to try and meet the alpha halfway at the very least.
