Re(7): Replacement of the Regimental Abbreviation ‘RRF’ by ‘FUSILIERS ‘

Good Morning All,

I agree totally with all the comments and examples quoted so far. Who would confuse RAF with RRF as a example - utter nonsense! Using the same illogical thought process why not call RRF the ‘1st Infantry Persons Regiment’ or the ‘Blueberries’ on account of being the only English regiment left today to wear this headdress. Maybe the 1st Pick Blinders would be a thought! The ludicrous and dangerous morass into which obsequious and PC-addled senior officers have led the British Army is a source of real concern to every citizen of the nation.
This comes alongside notices not to use language like "mankind", "chaps" or "gentleman's agreement" from the Joint Equality Diversity and Inclusion unit, nicknamed the “Jedi”. I just wonder why our ‘grown ups’ feel the urge to change for changing sake – will it make any difference when attacked by screaming banshees! I think not! We are subtly changing the regiment bit by bit and I feel the ‘old and bold’ will be left to ponder what if! Have a good RRF Day and unlike others who just throw history in the bin. From a former disgruntled LF & RRF. Les

PS. I often use the word consultation -seek other points of view? I notice this is also a trait that is fast becoming very rare in our regiment of today!
