Calypso also called Fairy Slipper is now called Calypso bulbosa but also known in the past as Calypso borealis, Cypripedium bulbosa and Cythera bulbosa.
It has been found growing in Simcoe County in a few places in the past. The good stand that was once found at Wasaga Beach has not been observed for many years now and has probably disappeared due to housing development. There are some place in northern Simcoe County where it may still be surviving. I have not checked the sites now for a few years to see if it is still present. Replies:
