Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He was still processing the idea that Matianak had been with someone. Sure, he was still young in the wolf world but he knew things, including what adults got up to in their spare time when the air was cold. He knew where kids came from. So why wasn't she with someone? He took a daring step toward her. He could smell a male on her coat, but it wasn't strong or anything, not like he claimed her as his own or anything. Something forced its way up in Triton's chest, almost making him want to do that himself, just in case anyone gets any ideas. Was he....jealous? He'd never felt it before, but he knew he wasn't happy to know a male had been around Matianak. Sure, he knew he was younger than her and not as experienced in the ways of the world, but he was growing and maturing. Hell, he'd been taking care of his own father for months after his mother up and left them. That had to count for something, right?

She told him that their father was in Asteraia and somehow, that made him feel a little better. Good, there was distance between them. It wasn't like their father lived here with Matianak or anything like that. His chest loosened a little. Then she said that there was no emotional attachment and his eyes lightened as relief flowed through him. "So...you don't love him?" He kept the question as innocent sounding as possible, wanting to only come off as curious, but inside he was jumping for joy at the prospect that she was still a free agent. He nodded along, trying to keep his face neutral though it was easy to see that the lines around his muzzle and eyes weren't as tight as they were a minute ago. "You're right. A father should know his children."

He was genuine in that regard. He wouldn't have it any other way than having both his parents in his life like he did. He would hate to have been separated any other way than for his mother to volunteer to leave. At least she wasn't kept from him and neither was his father. When she asked after him, he glanced down at his paws, wondering if he should mention Magpie. He thought about her a lot but that didn't make his confusing emotions toward Matianak any different. He felt drawn to Magpie and still felt a connection to her, even when he was miles away from her. Somehow, he was sure if he wanted to find her, he could and not even have to trail her. He would just know. He calculated to himself for a minute before finally raising his eyes. Maybe it wouldn't make her feel anything, but he wanted to see anyway. An experiment, of sorts.

"I...met someone. My imprint." He wasn't about to volunteer everything about Magpie, even to Matianak. Somehow their relationship still felt fresh and new and fragile and he didn't want to ruin that. In a way, she still felt like a private little secret to him, something for him and him alone. Then he realized he hadn't even told Matianak the most important thing, though surely she would have heard the news by now. "Oh, and my mother's gone. She took off to find adventure or something, I don't know." He shrugged, trying to sound nonchalant but even now, the pain still managed to wiggle its way into his voice. He looked away for a minute, composing himself. The last wolf he wanted to seem weak around was Matianak.
