Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.

A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

Test My Will, Test My Heart

Pain flashed through the femme as she clashed with the vampire. She didn’t realize how severe the attack to her abdomen was. In the moment adrenaline coursed through her veins, masking the pain that would come later, if she survived this. Her entire form was in fight mode and pain was not something that could distract her right now. It was good that she managed to stay entirely focused as the male went for her inner limb. A bite to the right spot there would quickly become fatal, and Zawyne still needed her. She knew that the rainbow was running back home, but the vampire would still be able to catch her if he ran after her now. Adara would do everything in her power to ensure that the younger femme got safely home. She was too important to let the vampire get to her. Spinning on her paws to face the brute once more, she let out a growl as he began to speak.

As the vampire’s words reached her, her blood began to boil. Did he really think that she would just let him get to Zawyne? He truly was crazy if he thought that tactic would work. A snarl escaped her as she responded. ”I will die before I let you get anywhere near her.” To show how truly she meant those words, she leapt again at the brute. Her plan went exactly as she wanted it, diving at him as if to mimic her original attack. He must have thought she was stupid because he dodged away right as she spun to the side. Her teeth made their mark on his side, gripping deeply and tearing away. Adara could not tell how deep her bite was, and if she had done enough damage to cause severe enough damage to cripple him. She heard his cry of pain and anger, and it continued to drive her forward. She had never been a sadistic wolf or one to want to hurt others, even when they deserved it. But knowing that her target had hit its mark made her have some hope that she might win this fight. Taking the moment of her first attack with her, she didn’t hesitate as she lunged for a killing blow to his throat. But her first attack had caused him enough pain to pull away quickly, and she missed her second attack by mere inches. She could feel how close she had come to being successful, and it was very frustrating to realize that she had somehow missed. A growl of pure frustration escaped her, and she was trying to think quickly of how to retaliate and make that blow a fatal success.

As the tempest’s momentum pulled her forward, she felt his own attack miss entirely as his teeth snapped at the inside of her elbow. She had been too quick for him to get any piece of her for once. But what happened next was something she had not anticipated. Once more trying to turn quickly to regroup, she stumbled on her paws. She had been moving too quickly for her to get a real grip at the ground, and that one stumble, one misfire, was what cost her. Before Adara could fully turn around, she felt the force of the vampire’s body colliding with her, throwing her to the ground and she let out a grunt as all the air was driven forcefully from her lungs. Scrambling to get back to her paws, to push him off of her, to do anything to get out of this position, limbs flailed about as she snarled once more. But she was fully under him, and unless he stood to let her up, there was nothing she could do. Despite the fact that she was bigger and more muscular, he had gotten her in the right position to be in complete control. Despite her flailing form, trying to make herself as much of a moving target as possible, the vampire’s aim was perfect. There was no pain for some reason, even though there should have been. But she could feel his fangs biting through her neck, and it was as if time had frozen. Every second felt like a year. And she could feel her heart give out its last few beats as she realized she as going to die, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. She had let down Zawyne, and all she could think of was that she hoped she had made it safely back to Dierne Hrof. As long as the rainbow was safe then this would be worth it. Zawyne’s life was so much more important than Adara’s. Holding her breathe, Adara felt intense pressure as the vampire’s fangs closed around her fragile vasculature before pulling away fiercely.

Adara’s form did not flail anymore, she did not cry out, but merely lost all breath. Her head fell to the side, and she still felt like she was in slow motion as all of her blood quickly began to leave her body. She was quickly going into a permanent state of unconsciousness as the vampire fed briefly from her. There was no life flashing before her mind moment. But her last thought was of her brother, Aindreas. She felt happy as she died to know that they had become friends despite their upbringing. He would have had every right to hate her for the rest of their lives, but he had forgiven her and the two had become friends. She had done her best to ensure he was not alone again, and had loved to see him thrive and become alpha of the pack after their father had left. She hoped she had made an impact on others lives. That she had been kind whenever she could and she was happy that she had no enemies. Besides the creatures of the night that plagued Blossom. But she had done everything she could to protect those that needed it. And to her that was all that mattered as her unnaturally blue orbs closed for the last time.
