Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Zelda had no idea what a rough past the child had, only that it seemed whatever it was it hadn’t gotten any easier. The girl seemed very lost, and the more Zelda cleaned her the more her scent clearly became more foreign to Moladion. Where did she come from though? How did she get here? Zelda knew of many wolves who had walked from the north, crossing the vast tundra to other lands beyond, but she was starting to suspect that this young girl had not come the easy way. She didn’t know where, but when asked Zelda was shocked. Across the sea to the West? Then she really did cross the sea? Be it an island or another unknown land far away Zelda couldn’t say. She never went beyond Moladion’s borders before. The land she mentioned though was one she never heard of, even with all the wolves she had met and known had adventured beyond. It was a miracle she didn’t drown, or was eaten by the large swarming sharks or orcas that she knew existed out there.
Still she was glad, the gods or whatever was out there saved her. She was safe so long as she was with Zelda she would let no harm come to her as best she could. The topic of family though seemed to tremble, from cold or emotions Zelda couldn’t be certain, especially as she spoke. Her grandfather, he sounded kind, blood or not it didn’t matter in a way it reminded her of Cenmatl how he was taken in by her grandfather, how he was part of the family his grandson too. Never would Zelda would think to ever scorn him, blame him, if anything happened to Coszcotl. ”No… I’m sorry for your loss, there’s no need to apologize for being sad and overwhelmed. That’s… upsetting.” She thought of her own grandfather, he was also so old and growing more fragile. If it wasn’t for their family he wouldn’t be able to survive anymore. They all helped, they all loved to see him, she couldn’t imagine just leaving him like that.
Trying to put that aside for now, she was happy that the girl introduced herself. ”Selene, wonderful I’m so happy to meet you too.” Zelda supposed the girl didn’t have anywhere to go for now. Her heart broke for her, she was so young yet had just been dumped into the world suddenly and roughly. ”How about this Selene, if you would like you can come to my home of Taviora once we get you dried off a little more. From there you can choose to stay or at least find your paws. You would be more than welcome there, I promise.” She assured, knowing that, for sure at least her family would dote on her, well most of it, but all the pack was mostly kind and good natured, she would get all the help she needed until she figured out what it was she wanted at the very least.
