Cuirass couldn't tell if Rapier was really taking in the alpha's words or not, but he gave a nod after she'd already turned away to leave. He sighed but figured that was the best he was going to get. Rapier then gave him some playful words, saying he seemed to know the alpha rather well and he couldn't help but chuckle, his own eyes twinkling with mischief. "Well, as her advisor, I'd like to think so." He gave a tasing wink, wondering how his brother would feel about his new rank in the world. Sure, he was no alpha, but he'd never wanted leadership. He liked causing chaos from the shadows and watching it all fall apart with no other responsibilities save for his own skin. When he asked what Rapier would be doing next, Rapier admitted that the lands were quiet and he'd like to liven them up a little. He couldn't help but curl his lips back in a grin. "Oh? Pray tell." That was his way of encouraging his brother to share how he planned to do that.
Of course, there was always the option that Rapier might leave him in the dark on this plan and that was fine too, but he could always ask. As family, he liked to keep up with his siblings and make sure they were at least safe. When his gaze traveled over Cuirass' shoulder, there was a subtle shift and he knew already who must be coming for who other would come from the pack side of the borders but his sister, Kattari. He was just glad that she'd joined a pack for her own safety. After killing that male in Diveen, it didn't seem like they were ever going to stop hunting her. He turned his head just enough to watch the growing silhouette of his sister. She looked well enough, though the scars seemed more fresh this time, as if she'd found someone else to make her prey. Cuirass' brow lifted in expectation but he didn't expect her to actually share or anything. She liked to keep her mysteries.
She ran right past the alpha, though Cuirass caught the gesture of her tail flicking so maybe that was all that was needed between them. He didn't know their relationship, after all, but the alpha seemed okay enough with Kattari being here so that was good enough for him. She slid up against him and he smirked, pushing his shoulder into hers in a more playful but still affectionate way. His ear swayed toward her as she spoke to Rapier, telling him she was glad to see him alive and how she had thought both him and Melisandre dead. Cuirass scowled momentarily at the memory of their sister. He didn't want more dead litter mates before their time. Rapier took in the information but offered no response. Could that have been a flash of surprise in his eyes though when she mentioned Melisandre's fate? Cuirass couldn't be sure. His own gaze swept back to Rapier as his brother started moving forward with purpose, his gaze almost hungry as he looked to their sister. Cuirass often forgot that they were litter mates and therefore were probably closer than he could ever be to either one of them
That's okay, though. Kronos was his other half and always would be. He glanced at Kattari out the corner of his eye, wondering how she would respond. Rapier seemed to only have eyes for Kattari now, though Cuirass didn't miss how his little brother turned his gaze almost expectantly to him for a moment, as if making sure he wasn't saying anything else to him. Then he turned it right back to Kattari as if that was where it belonged all along. At Rapier's words of keeping the older siblings in check, Cuirass could only chuckle and shake his head. "Good luck with that, little brother." His eyes darkened again with promise. As he caught Kattari's words to himself, he turned his gaze back to her then, is lips curling back in a smug grin. "Oh, however do you mean, Kat? Is making sure the Satanican bloodline lives on in an heir truly all that despicable?" He lifted a brow, challenging her to ask more questions.
He didn't care how others judged him for his decisions. He knew what he was doing. If Belhara wouldn't give him a child, then he would find someone who would and that's exactly what he did. If the chance came again next winter, he might again, if only because that was a lot of pressure on Nissa, to continue the Satanican lineage. His other siblings didn't seem to be pulling their own weight so he had to do what he had to do. That was part of his duty as oldest sibling and he didn't regret a minute of it.
