Elastic Retreat / Eisenhauer Box

Just thought I would a comment on that extra games research previously discussed.

It's much more complicated that I originally thought.

But here are just two quick examples:

If you look at Goiko and Lopez when they played at Miami, even IF they had a 10% fall-off in energy and focus, they are STILL bigger and stronger than their opponents. Although the same may not be be true for Aritz, he still retains all of his advantage in skill.

So for the top players a 10% fall-off in energy and focus might translate to a 2% fall-off in point-winning percentage.

A second consideration is that in competitive events like running and bicycle races, it is normal to participate at a sustainable pace, and save something for a big finish. Jai-alai might have an element of that where if you pile on extra games, the player could just throttle down a bit to a sustainable level and then go all-out in the final game.

Therefore, I think that looking for a clear fall-off pattern is far too simplistic.

So, back-burnering this till the Dania break.

Anyhow I was just reading about the Eisenhauer Box and productivity. Made me realize how much time I waste on jai-alai. Here is a great example of time-wasting, composed as a response to Straymar's idea of betting certain crowd-pleasing numbers of Friday nite, which of course implies that the fronton is cheating.

Draw your own conclusions.

Back to Dwight D.

Combining his ideas with the fact that nobody here seems to be all that keen on having their ideas challenged, leads me to take an extended Cesta Siesta.

So good luck to all, and mucho respect to Tiger for keeping this board alive.
