She didn't know anything about Maris' background or what she was used to in terms of a pack and the land. She could either learn to like the foggy mystery of Iromar or she might hate it but either way, it was a safe haven for her if she wanted it. It had to be better than living alone in the free lands. Avery liked to think she was seeing the first signs of hope in Maris' eyes as she finished her offer. The female still seemed unsure but Avery hoped she could take away that uncertainty by giving her a task of sorts, nothing too hard but somethin that would make her feel like she was giving back to the pack. When Maris smiled, Avery couldn't help but return the gesture, glad to see the first steps of a happier life reflected in the younger female's eyes. She at least seemed amenable to what Avery asked of her, nodding as she said that it wouldn't happen fast but that she would be more than happy to do it.
Avery smiled and nodded. "Take your time. There's no time limit on it or anything. It's going to take time anyway for you to settle into your new den and get to know the land and the wolves within it. I want your honesty more than anything and I believe you can do it." She wanted Maris to know that she had someone in her court now, someone who believed in her just as Andras and Aithne had believed in her. Maybe it was only a small step but Avery took it anyway, cause helping someone like Maris was worth it. She could see a kind forgiving heart in the female and it gave her hope for what she wanted to see in Iromar's future. If they could get more wolves like her to believe in the pack and what it could be, then maybe there was a chance Avery could make it into something resembling the paradise it was when Aithne was alpha. "Would you like me to show you the way? I can even give you a tour unless you want to explore the pack on your own. That's fine, too." She figured it was only right to offer to lead her there since Maris might not know where to go.
