Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

If only her brother knew how she, too, felt about her relationship with her family. Even in her seclusion, she had heard the news of their youngest brother, Halcyon, becoming the alpha of their homelands. Many times she had fought with herself about rejoining the society and visiting her brother. However, by the time she had gathered enough courage, Asteraia was once again taken by another and Halcyon fell into obscurity. How could she go to him now? Would he even know who she was? It wasn't like she had been a major part of his life growing up. And what of the others? Mugen, Viserys, Isolde, and even Lucero? None of them had barely any memory of her in their scattered pasts.

No, it was best to remain a ghost in their minds and remain upon the mountain in the abandoned den she called home. What a welcome surprise to have her own ghost return from the shadows and step into the light. As the siblings warmly greeted one another, Gaia felt a happiness she had not known in years. It seemed to reawaken a part of her that had long remained dormant. She was still the same kind, loving wolfess their mother had raised her to be. She held no resentment for Cae, only love. As she watched him gulp the last bit of the squirrel, she merely smiled fondly as she waited for him to speak.

As he nuzzles her, she whines quietly, returning the gesture in earnest. He continues to talk and she revels at the sound of his voice. Even when they were young, Cae had always been quiet. But this was a special occasion and she could tell he was doing his best to communicate with her, something she was tremendously grateful for. Finally, it was her turn to speak and she situates herself comfortably beside her brother, blending the fur of their parents together. "I have tried to make a few packs my home over the years, but I was never able to find one I liked. I've been living in a forgotten part of the mountain land in an old bear den for the last few years. I like to come down to the forest from time to time and see if any of the local loners wish to share in any information about the goings on in the land."

It has not gone unnoticed that her brother has avoided giving too much information about his whereabouts over that last decade, but she does not press him. Once upon a time, she would have demanded that he tell her everything in full detail. But she was older now and wiser to the secrets that each wolf had. If he wanted to tell her more, he would. She had learned patience in her exile, something their father had never taught them. She chuckled lightly at the thought of their parents. "What do you think Mom and Dad would think of us if they were alive? I've often wondered if I'm living life the way they'd want me to."
