It was not hard to tell from the way Avery's visage shifted when the name 'Aithne' was spoken that she had, indeed, known the former ruler of Iromar. The moors had been a strong and fierce pack then, not one to be trifled with and yet not one to be feared either. A good balance, I thought. Avery confirmed that she had been a member of Aithne's pack, her head leader in fact. My brows rose slightly, interested in this new tidbit of information. History within the packs and their members often stretched back further than many realized, and I was glad to have gained this bit of knowledge about Avery's own history with Iromar. Loyalty, I speculated, might very well be a strong attribute of hers.

The conversation moved on to the future exchange between our packs, and my suggestion of hosting such an event upon the banks of the Aplos River was well received by the new Monarch. She agreed to the idea with ease and enthusiasm. It would be good, I thought, for our packs to mingle in such a manner. There were always possibilities for learning new things and exchanging knowledge and skills. It would be good to have our southern neighbor as a reliable source for such things once more. Perhaps a renewed alliance between the mountain and the moors could be born of such things.

As the conversation came to its natural conclusion, my ears pricked and I smiled at her words. "Thank you for coming to see us. It is my hope that our packs may rekindle a mutual amity as well. Until we meet again, Avery." I nodded a farewell to her before she departed, turning my attention then to Tyrion to see if he might like to walk with me and discuss who might be best to encourage to attend the gathering. Together we would make our way back into the packlands until such a time when we parted ways and I returned to my duties as Bewilderbeast of Spirane.
