The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

I would be lying if I said I didn't appreciate his sudden lack of attention as I quickly dried my eyes. It was embarrassing to cry in front of him as we had only just met… Right, this was only our second meeting, and yet, it felt like I've known him for much longer. How strange this all was. As I mentioned my cousin, I watched his face contort into an expression of pure confusion.

I paused a moment, wondering what it was he was thinking so much about. (I would find out later how close Fate had come to making our imprinting a very awkward affair). He spoke of the island in Glorall and the flowers that grew there and I couldn't help but gasp. I was always happy to meet new friends! "Really? I'd love to meet… I mean, see them some day! I have often thought about swimming across the sea, but I don't think I am strong enough to make it yet. Maybe you can go with me."

I watched him as he moved towards the flowers, speaking of their place in the world and, in turn, my own. I smiled and stepped forward too, my fur tickling his own as I tried very hard to not actually touch him, though I longed to. The flowers watched us as they danced in the breeze. He was right, I knew, and yet I still felt like I couldn't make my way alone. I needed help and Eden seemed to be a good wolf to help me reach my goal, what ever it was. Of course, that was before his son had come into my life.

When I changed the subject to him, I watched as his face seemed to fall. For a moment, I wondered if I had said something to upset him and I was about to apologize, but it looked as if he were deep in thought. I stayed quiet, giving him time to think. When he spoke, I have to admit, his word took me by surprise. I had done something to him that changed the way he thought about his future. The shock of knowing that made me fall on my haunches. I didn't know I was capable of such a thing and he wasn't done yet!

He looked so lost and, dare I say it, a little scared. I tried to follow his line of thinking and found myself nodding. I paused a moment, then smiled. This time, I didn't stop myself from leaning into him. I wasn't sure how he'd react to my sudden touch, but I just couldn't help myself. I wanted to comfort him, help ground him. "That sounds nice. A place you can call your own, where you can be anything you want and those that follow you want that just as much as you." I hoped I was following him right. I wanted that too and I only just realized it now.
