The OOC board is, well, multi-purpose! Members can post freely here and the majority of site-related content will be posted here as 'announcements,' while general chatting goodness is encouraged to take place over on our Discord server.

Plot-trackers and to-do lists can also be posted here. Events such as "Quarterly Highlight" nominations and voting, site-wide plots, Casanova nominations and site-wide changes (such as a rule update) will also be posted here. You may use the 'key' below to colour-code your posts!

For starters, this post is an ongoing project!

It will be edited to reflect decided changes and suggestion and so forth.
When updated, the subject of the post will be updated with the date the changes were made. Inside the post, new changes (as of the date updated) will be bolded so people can find them easier.
If replying to this post, feel free to do the same by updating your title and post with relevant comments etc. That way, we can keep the thread from getting too long!
Discussing and anonymously suggesting can also be done via Discord, where your OOC will be kept secret but your suggestions will be put forth nonetheless!

Moving on!
These changes have been proposed in order to 'casualize' the game, streamline the site and make it more accessible for players and potential-players alike. We want to take away the 'stress' of posting and all that!

Players are free to make comments on these proposals along with making suggestions of their own! Please try to give reason for any objection or suggestions so that we and other players can try to problem solve with them in mind. Otherwise, let's do this!

Proposed Changes

General
- New site layout that will scale with your device. This will make accessing it via phone or tablet easier. Boards will open in new tabs to prevent loading problems associated with iframes etc.

- Change OTM to 'Quarterly Highlight.' Nominations still cannot be repeated but players will have three months of content to nominate from.

- Remove "Quote of the Month/Quarter." Instead, each player can nominate a quote they liked. All quotes will be displayed on the main page! All other categories will remain

- "Fact Sheet" just become a "Field Guide." Include small glossary of terms like "Old Moladion" etc. Clickable links / headers so easy navigation. "Credits" consolidated into "About" with credits, previous layouts, "history" of the game and so on.

- Clearer, scheduled dates for updates, OTQ nominations/Voting etc. Makes it easier to keep track of things and helps us stay consistent! Updating may appear slower but will ultimately be easier to stay on top of. (eg. Updates every two weeks)

Rules
- Change "alpha inactivity rule." Alphas must post at least once every two weeks in any thread, not just those taking place within their pack.

Boards
- Consolidate "Free Land" boards, combining some areas and archiving others. The 'archived' board would be maintained (to stay spam-free) and linked from the primary board. This would include combining Susil Crags & Grotto; Enocra Woodlands & Mecor Valley; Aplos Riverside & Ruieze Fields and leaving Lumira Tundra as it's own board.

- Remove the Hunting board. Hunts would be requested and could be posted on any free land board and even in packs instead.

- Repurpose OOC board. Combine To-Do Lists and Plot Trackers into OOC board, encouraging Discord use and using board primarily for voting/OTQs.

- Remove Staff board.

- Remove Word Counter, Spell Check and HTML Tester. We have Practice Board for HTML! Consolidate Studio/Lab and "Workshop" into a single link - "Resources." Can also have links to Free HTML, 'recommended' commissioners (Castle, Dante, Ampi, Osiris etc for HTML and images)

New Stuff

"Active Hiatus"
Already sometimes done but promote and 'officialize' "Active Hiatus." This would be when a player places a character on Hiatus but they stay partially in-game.

When a player places a character on hiatus, they may elect to give a synopsis on where that character has gone. If the character remains in Moladion, they may periodically update with that character's whereabouts and minor actions. This would allow 'character building' to an extent even on Hiatus and would allow characters to still be included in posts and be aware of events, just not posted themselves. It would, however, give other players VERY minor powerplay abilities such as saying a healer gave them treatment, or they encountered scout on their way out of the pack. It would not allow them to claim your character said specific things or acted in a game-changing way (eg. attacking, chasing etc) unless it is specified in their Hiatus that it's allowed.

eg. "Placing Elara on hiatus until her muse comes back strong! She will be staying in Diveen. She will be gathering herbs for the healers when needed and hunting for small prey and leaving it for any new mothers throughout the spring. Otherwise, she is keeping to herself but paying close attention to what Mithos and her other relatives are doing."
OR
"Noroi going on hiatus. He is contained in the Crags with an illness. He is lurking in a series of caverns to the south of the crags, defending it from outsiders that he encounters by chasing them away. Anybody who goes by his 'plot of land' might encounter a sick, scraggly wolf chasing them down until they leave (though he won't attack as he knows he is unwell.) If they're bold, he might just stalk around but not make a move, giving them the sense of being followed."

They can also just be hiatused like normal. eg. "Eto going on hiatus. She's still around in Taviora somewhere."

This will be closely monitored to start with just to make sure it's being used well and isn't causing any problems.
