News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Who had taught Jubilee? She looked about the same age as Yuki, perhaps even younger at that, and yet Yuki had never seen her go to Diveen to learn - many wolves were taught by her father, after all. Maybe she had been doing herself a disservice by not assuming other packs had their own teachers, a realization that made her shrink back in thought - so, she hadn't had her ears opened enough if she'd missed that. Of course other packs had their own teachers - warrior teachers, diplomacy, all of them. Silly, she thought, but just another lesson she'd learned, and one she'd been taught by Jubilee already - don't assume. Just like it'd be foolish to assume a wolf as small and kindly looking as Jubilee might not be a well of knowledge and experience.

Boar tusks. That brought her back to reality quickly - her mouth fell into an "o" of surprise before it twisted up into a grin. Ah, now that was an exciting challenge! Yuki had never been one to join in on those kinds of hunts but she'd seen wolves return with scrapes and gashes long and deep enough to need several weeks rest just to recover. But a real goring? It made her head spin just thinking about it! Luckily, Jubilee didn't let her linger in that sensation for long - instead, she dove right into the treatment. Yuki couldn't help but practically stare at her as she spoke, her eyes following her mouth intensely as if really clutching onto each and every word. She had to remember them, after all. Plus, it helped her mind not roam too far away.

She nodded when Jubilee finally paused and grinned. It was a lot to take in, and she wondered how any one wolf ought to remember all the herbs and plants alone. How did they discover they worked? Who experimented with chewing on bark and packing seeds into bloodied bodies? But something else, besides her bark, caught her attention once again - "Not for healing?" She tilted her head, a devious grin passing her lips for a moment before she gave a little shrug and stretched out her legs. Finding moss, yarrow and willow bark. She looked up again, as she often did when she had to really think.

"There's moss in the trees that border Spirane - along the trunks, and at their feet. But it's hard looking, short looking. Long moss would be better, wouldn't it? In which case, maybe towards Taviora would be better as their forests are more humid than here." Though she couldn't recall seeing much moss near Taviora, but she also hadn't really been looking at the time. It made sense though, or at least she thought - moss liked water, or rain at least, so somewhere that didn't dry out too terribly would be a good start. "As for willow, I'd go towards Iromar, or at least follow the river south from here." She quickly glanced about them, momentarily worried she'd missed the obvious answer being here. One sheepish grin later, she finally thought of yarrow - "Yarrow would grow here, wouldn't it? But...do you need the flower, or is any part of the plant okay? If you need flowers...ah, then you'd better not be hunting any boars outside of the warmer seasons."

She wondered where they might go first - it seemed like quite an undertaking to leave Spirane just for some herbs. Or maybe she had been wrong and Jubilee had her own stash there in Spirane, a secret forest of her own. If she didn't, she wondered if that might be something that was even possible - surely they could find a way to make willow grow where it did not already, or some way to make moss stay put, to grow in crevices by their homes. But Yuki was here to learn for now, so she kept her mouth closed, and instead beckoned for Jubilee to lead the way - perhaps once she learned all she could, she'd be in a better place to start asking so many questions.
