Persephone listened with interest to Ruger’s response. His words about the Forest rang true. She had many secrets, Persephone was sure, many of which she would doubtless never learn, no matter if she lived here for 100 years or more. She was sure Ruger had many of his own secrets too. Didn’t they all. “Olaf…” Persephone repeated, turning the name around on her tongue for a moment. Another new one. “I haven’t heard his name before.” She paused for a second, filing the information away in her mind. Then she returned her focus back to Ruger, who was still but a stranger standing in her lands. “You were a debt collector, then?” she asked, with a curious tilt of her head. “For who?
