Tarek breathes a sigh of relief. This is the response he had hoped to get. Impossible as it seems, it looks like solitary Tarek has finally found a friend. "I understand." He replies.
"You let me know when you need to stop, and we will. I'll do my best to keep you safe." His heart beats an increasing tempo in his chest. There wasn't much responsibility to caring only for yourself. With a pregnant mare in tow, there is suddenly so much more at stake. Tarek is both thrilled and terrified to have Hannah by his side. He only hopes he can be the protector she deserves.
"Have you had enough to eat?" Tarek asks, concern knitting his brow. "We best get going soon if we are to find somewhere safe before your little one arrives." This morning began without urgency. How quickly things can change.
Tarek considers the islands, and the landscapes it has to offer, only vaguely familiar with them. He hasn't been here since he was a young colt. His first inclination is to take her to the desert. This is where he was born, and his mother before him. But no, only those adapted to such a climate should have to birth a child there. He must find a place of mild climate, with plenty to eat. He must also find a place occupied by a benevolent leader, and he won't know who leads a land, until he faces whoever it is head on. A dangerous path lies ahead. Tarek hopes he is prepared.
