Thank you for your post. May I however draw your attention to the " rules " governing messages being placed on the LF Message Board. Your post does not fully identify who you are. Please in future add your full name. As it is we don't actually know who you are and it is classed as anonymous and strictly speaking I am obliged by the protocols of the Web Site to delete the message. However, I will let it go this time as as you bring up a good point. The answer is I don't know. You question is best directed at the MOD JCCC. There are DNA checks going on by the MOD's Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC). Once they have the DNA of a recovered soldier they then have to try and find the family to comfirm with the subject's DNA. It's a long process. If you look below on the "Help want to find an LF Family" message, they are trying to find the families of Fusilier Walter Vickers or Fusilier Joseph Frank Faulkner so they can go ahead with the reburial.
The other problem is we are not being kept in the loop by our RHQ.
Just to add to that, 2 Northumberland Fusiliers where laid to rest. When their bodies where found they knew they where RNF but could not find the families. They were found on the Somme some 103 years later, just 2 of the 72000 still missing on the Somme.
Dennis
