3/11(E)--GAME 10--HE DID IT AGAIN!!! Posted on May 11, 2019 at 11:05:53 PM by jsolo
Will also put this on blog when I've mapped it. The main thing is that Diego, with the exception of 1 dropped catch, could have run two perfect games today. This time, from the 1 slot, he was, if possible, more devastating than in the afternoon. He opened with 5 winners (3 consecutive aces, although the second "ace" was aided by Leke throwing away the return), a dejada and a two wall. The 5 winners made 12 consecutive points in this game today. These 5 came on 11 balls in play in two minutes. I don't know if there are any records for consecutive points won in the same game, or consecutive perfect games in the same game, but it came to an end with a simple dropped catch against Goitia, who won the 8 ball point. It also let everyone else into the game.
No one took advantage as the second round was filled with errors (Goitia threw one too high, Zulaika faulted, Leke scored an ace when Erik dropped an easy serve, and Diego won the game when he came back and Ithurria dropped a catch). So for Diego, 6 points won, 1 lost, and he was +5 -1. For the two Game 10s today he won 13 points, lost one and was +11 -1. Not a bad haul. And about as dominant a day in this game as can be imagined. For tonight's game there were by all +11 -5, but two of the winners were "aces" that were dropped or thrown away by the receiver. So actually +9 -7. Replies:
