Green heron and others

Walking back to the Green River this morning, chasing down a warbler, something with a luxurious, curved wingspan drifted overhead and landed across the river. First green heron of the season. Brilliant orange legs, but the chestnut highlights weren't showing much below the grey. Then a great blue heron flew in, landed right beside the green and scared it off.
Meanwhile, a beaver and a female common merganser were paddling side-by-side nearer our side of the river. The beaver slapped its tail and dove -- suddenly noticed the duck beside it maybe? -- which annoyed the merganser and it took off.
In the immediate vicinity, black-and-white and yellow-rumped warblers in the poplars, a common yellowthroat in the distance, and either a pine warbler or a chipping sparrow (the trill was somewhere in between).
The black-and-white has been quite busy around our yard for the last two days.
