Re(6): Some Interesting Marine Corps History Posted on 5/19/2019 at 19:22:56 by Ed Tipshus
While at USNA plebe summer and later in September I was wrting to my hometown buddy who enlisted in the Corps at the same time as I did during the summer of '47 and he was in Korea , and a vet of the
Chosin Reservoir campaign - Hagaru and later the Inchon, landing and fight. He later jokingly told me that he really felt sorry for me when i described the harassment of that I endured durin my stay at USNA as a Plebe. It was nothing compared to what he and his buddies endured. compared to life threatening stress to Plebe harrassment it was a joke. and my letter to him was some amusement to him and his buddies in Korea. Later in the war he wrote and carefully described how i was to get a large can of juice, fill it with whisky and solder its open hole shut and mail it to. Liquor was lacking there. as was solder and liquor at USNA. Replies: There have been no replies.
