Good Afternoon Carole
The WW1 Medal Rolls held at the National Archives record only one person named Alfred Hicks of the Lancashire Fusiliers. His Regimental number was 38452.
I have emailed you a link to his medal card which can be downloaded for a small fee.
He is also recorded on the Medal Rolls (card) held by Ancestry.com I have again emailed you a link to view the card.
The WW2 Alfred Hicks is a different matter. Service Records for WW2 personnel are not held locally. You will need to apply for a copy of his Service Record. Click on the link below to read how to go about it.
Hope this helps with your research.

UPDATE...1810 hrs
I have found another WWI Alfred Hicks who was originally with the Royal Engineers as a Cpl. He later transfered to the LF's. I have sent you details by email and a link to his Royal Engineers Medal Card.
I would be grateful for an acknowledgement that you have read this post.
