Calder Jai Alai

A family member sent me you tube links and I watched some matches. I don’t fully understand why these matches exist. Aside from a warrior , who looks like a very talented player on any court , wonderboy, momo, El Niño and a few others, it is hard to watch. I saw one guy serve both into overhead screen and lower pad. There was a time that players this poor were not allowed on the amateur courts. I respect the players for trying and may be missing some other names worth mentioning, but I cannot imagine who would choose this as a means to create numbers to gamble on. I am admittedly a 70s/80s old timer, but I fear someone might watch this and think this is what the sport is about. This is just my opinion but it might be best to let jai Alai in the states die a dignified death instead of a slow one. My 2 cents
