He wasn't sure he expected someone to find him failing so epically at fishing but it looks like today was that day. He had hoped to get better and eventually catch something and then he could parade around it and put it in Niyol's face later. But instead he kept watching the fish evade him then swim on down the river. Why couldn't he just catch a fish? It shouldn't be that hard. It just wasn't something you learned while in a forest. There were streams, sure, but nothing of this size with fish this big in it. He'd chased plenty of minnows as a smaller pup but this was fish you could get full on, at least to him.
When he heard the voice, he jumped up, a guilty expression on his face but he was quick to compose himself as he turned and faced the younger pup. She didn't smell of Taviora but she did smell of a pack. Was that...clay? He took another sniff, his ears pricked in curiosity as she told him to get in a better spot. He tilted his head, his lips twitching in a smirk. "Oh yeah? Any suggestions?" He was willing to indulge her. Then she asked if he was catching fish, like there was any doubt. He looked around in amusement before shrugging and looking at her. "Well, try is the key word. Any pointers?"
