Actually no - not the same one. The Howie I referenced is Howie Kalik who founded North Miami Amateur Jai-Alai in the early 70's. He's really the father of organized Amateur Jai-Alai in the US. The Miami Jai-Alai school was operated there school days from 4 to 7p & World Jai-Alai at first rented the courts from him then they bought the facility and he owned the operation until 1997 when Florida Gaming sold it. Joey, Daniel and virtually all of the South Florida trained professionals first trained on those three courts. The rubber ball and plastic ball courts were converted sound stages but the now-defunct Hard Ball court was actually purposefully constructed for pelota / hard ball Jai-Alai.
