Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

I am Magnolia.
She thought she'd heard some splashes down by the river but she didn't want to venture too close, figuring it just to be large fish jumping around or another wolf hunting and she wasn't about to get a show of teeth for being curious, so even as her stomach rumbled, she ducked her head and kept walking. That's when she found the tree and sat down beneath it. Her stomach continued to growl and rumble and she curled in on herself a little, hoping the weakness would just spread and she could just go to sleep. But that's when she heard something. Someone was coming! Fear zipped up her spine and her tail curled beneath her as her eyes widened like saucers.
It didn't take her long to see the small female coming her way. Smelling something, Mags' brows furrowed as she took another sniff. Was that...fish? Her mouth watered at just the idea even as her stomach grumbled again in protest. She scowled and ducked her head, her ears flattening to her skull. Why was the wolf coming to her with fish? Was she coming to chase her off? Mags quivered at just the thought. Then the wolf was before her, and at first she looked like she wanted to talk but nothing came out. Mags' ears flickered uncertainly but then the other wolf did speak, offering to share the fish. As if in answer, Mags' stomach rumbled yet again. Her voice came out shaky as she leaned away from the wolf, fearing it was a trick.
Her mother used to love tormenting her like this, putting food in front of her and asking her to take it, only to snatch it back or attack Mags for thinking she could have it at all. It was a terrible mind game to play on a skinny yearling but Mags learned quickly never to trust the offer.
"OH. N-NO THANK YOU. I SH-SHOULDN'T TAKE ANY W-WHEN YOU'RE THE O-ONE WHO CA-CAUGHT IT."
She even made herself look away from the fish so the female wouldn't see the hunger in her eyes. No need to make the wolf feel guilty about it. It wasn't her fault Mags was like this. Meanwhile, the others were getting restless. They were hungry too, and more vocal about it now. Diesel gave her a gentle nudge.
"IT'S NOT A TRICK, MAGS. IT'S OKAY. SHE SAYS YOU CAN HAVE SOME."
Mags shook her head vigorously.
"N-NO. I SHOULDN'T."
She pushed her head against the tree and closed her eyes, hoping if she couldn't see the temptation, they wouldn't be so pushy. But no such luck.
"COME ON, MAGGIE. I'M HUUUUUNGRY."
Even Kyra's voice was more whiny than usual. Bandit just glared at her, but the glare spoke volumes. He even curled up a lip in warning and she gasped and flinched. Meanwhile, a lone ear flicked back to hear the female give her name as Reian. Mags knew it was polite to speak back so even with her head still shoved against the tree and her eyes closed, she spoke through her clenched jaw.
"H-HELLO. I'M M-M-MAGNOLIA."
