The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

He was wondering just how long he would be wandering around here when he heard a voice somewhere in the darkness. He paused, ears flicking back and forth, but it was an echo so it was hard to place where exactly it was coming from. Was it back where he'd just come? Had someone come across his rabbit? It was just a corpse now, nothing left but bones and the pieces that weren't good to eat, but he was curious. He hadn't run into too many wolves besides the gatherings he'd ventured upon and his own siblings. But since he knew turning back would only get him more lost in the darkness, he decided to press on. After all, he had to find some water or the end of this forsaken tunnel at some point, right?

He only stopped again when he heard a voice, but this time it was closer. It was a female voice and his tail waved behind him in response, trying to appear friendly even as he glanced about in the darkness, trying to pinpoint the voice. Then as he squinted into the darkness, he could see the shadows moving, coming closer. He straightened up and offered a smile, even as she spoke again. Her words were strange, almost like she was a poet or something. Or a song. He tilted his head, curiosity shining in his eyes. When she got closer, he could see something in her mouth and as he leaned in a little, he saw it was none other than a foot from the rabbit he'd just eaten. He scowled thoughtfully, one brow lifting as he looked her over.

She looked maybe a little younger than him and smaller in stature. He shook his head at her next words. "Oh, not at all. I'm only sorry I didn't leave more than a foot for you. If you're still hungry, I can always help you catch something else." He said with a charming smirk.
