Bookies taking bets on the 2020 presidential election are predicting a Trump-Biden race, with President Trump a 1-1 favorite to win reelection.
Current wagers indicate that former Vice President Joe Biden would take the nomination and stands at a 4-1 chance to beat Trump.
In a surprise, BetOnline.ag said that the odds for Sen. Bernie Sanders, long the first or second choice in the Democratic primary race, has sunk to sixth in the general election, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren is second behind Biden.
“Now at even money (1/1), Trump is still the odds on favorite to win re-election in 2020. In the battle for the 2020 Democratic nominee, Joe Biden is favored but Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris and Andrew Yang are closing in,” said the political betting site.
BetOnline said that wagering interest is higher than in the 2016 race.
The site has also posted several betting options for this week’s Democratic debates, such as which name Trump will tweet out first. The current betting suggests that Trump will choose Warren first.
