Les, I am sure you have many true stories and tales during our LF days, the one image I hold dear to my heart is as follows. On a dark and bitterly cold night in Osnabruk on our way back to Quebec Barracks, I and a few worse for wear muckers were approaching the camp gates, suddenly we heard a stifled groan coming from the ice covered ditch along the side of the camp perimeter, sitting on a small mound of frosted grass was the late great JB( Spartacus Blaney ) totally worse for wear literally stuck to the ground by his trouser which had frozen solid making it impossible for him to rise. We managed after some huffing and puffing to release him and get back to his room to thaw out. I do believe that if we had not heard his groans it would have been Hasta La Vista. Next day unsurprisingly he did not remember anything. Great Days Cass.
