Nymeria seemed happy enough for them to join the pack but Paxton wanted to be a useful member, more than just another number. He needed to prove to Myrcella that he was more than just his handicap. Sure, she didn't seem to mind that he couldn't hear like she could, but he felt inferior to other wolves and it only made him want to work that much harder to excel in something. He might not be able to hear the birds and twigs snapping but he had a great sense of smell and could track pretty decently. He also had very good vision, as Rett had pointed out more than once. Why not? He had to do some thinking before he finally answered the alpha on what they wanted to specialize in. He knew he couldn't speak for his brother but he was certain Rett would excel in anything he put his mind to. He was Paxton's super hero, after all. Paxton concentrated extra hard on Nymeria's lips again when she spoke, saying they'd be excellent additions and that if either wanted to further their skills, just to let her know. His own eyes lit up at the idea of starting his training. Then Myrcella could see him in action! But for now, she wanted him to explore his home. He nodded. So he should do that first then come back to her. He could do that. He needed to stop being so impatient. Rett and he would need a den first to throw themselves down in exhaustion after a long day of training. He could already picture it in his mind's eye. He smiled. "Thank you, again, Nymeria. We will pick out a den and look around Spirane. It really is a beautiful pack. I'm sure I'll see you again when I'm ready for training." He gave his farewell, dipping his head once more in respect to her before he turned to Rett. "So, do you want to pick a den together or did you want your own space?" His ears flicked back a little at the latter words. Rett was the last remnent of his family left in his eyes and definitely the closest. They were just as much best friends as brothers and Paxton didn't want to lose that but he understood that they were getting older and Rett might want to be more independent. He didn't blame his brother. He tried not to look too hopeful that Rett might take him up on the offer of a den together before nudging his shoulder again playfully so they could trot further into Spirane and look for a place to crash.
