MEN SHOULD KEEP THEIR WORD . . .

The male didn’t know what to do, but all he knew was that he had to fix it. This was entirely his fault, he had messed up. Not Macaria. She had done nothing wrong, and yet he had attacked her verbally. Had said the worst things to her that he possibly could. Had taken an awful situation and somehow made it even worse. He had been selfish and there was nothing he could to take back what had been said. To take back the hurt that he had inflicted on his mate. All Grey wind wanted to do was to make it right again. For her to somehow be able to forgive him. He didn’t know if was possible, but he would do anything in the world to make it possible. To make it so that the two of them could be whole again. Because without her there was a whole piece of him missing. And he couldn’t imagine losing her because of how rude and foolish he had been. Grey Wind let the words tumble from his maw, apologies and sincere words. Hoping that she would understand. He knew that it would take time to fix what he had done, and that there was no way things would go back to normal instantly. That was foolish thinking. But eventually things would, right?

So far the vampire was saying nothing, doing nothing. So the male continued to draw closer and closer to his mate. When she didn’t push him away or flinch from him, he reached out to lick some of the fresh blood from her. To show that he loved her and cared for her. But it was not to be, for she finally reacted. The femme snapped at him, barely missing his face with her teeth as his body instinctively reacted and flinched away. Her snarl had been the only warning of her attack as she began to spew hateful words at him. Hateful words that he deserved. Her second move didn’t have warning though, and her claws dug into his chest, tearing away fur and skin. A growl of surprise and pain escaped his throat, but he didn’t move or snap back at her. He knew that he deserved whatever she did to him. If she wanted to physically harm him, he would let her. Even though he knew if Macaria wanted to hurt someone, they would be hurt. She was a strong, powerful wolf that could easily hold her own. He didn’t need to let her do anything. But he would not fight back.

Suddenly Macaria leapt at him, and he felt the snap of her teeth as her jaws shut. He knew that if she had wanted to sink her fangs into him that she would have, she was still holding back as she was not one to miss. But even though his flesh was spared, he felt his fur pull away as she tore a chunk out of him. The last few words that she spewed at him didn’t make it to his brain at first. They were finished? Finished with what? They had done everything together, had made it through so much. Surely his foolish act and words weren’t going to end their whole relationship? He knew it was bad…but this bad? Macaria must be joking, or something. Panic began to spew inside as he came to realize she was serious. He had messed up beyond repair. He frantically began speaking, needing to do anything to make her take the words back. ”Macaria…you…I know that I made mistakes…like fucked up incredibly. But you can’t mean that? After all we’ve been through…I didn’t mean any of it. I was…upset…but I didn’t mean it.” The words stumbled out frantically, desperately trying to do anything to make her realize how sorry he was…how much he needed her…
