Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

How was the pup to live, to survive without either of his mothers to care for him? He knew nothing of fathers, such a parental figure had never been a part of his life. If only he had know that royalty flowed through his veins, if only he had known that if he travelled to Uyaraut he would have a home, perhaps he would have been saved. Perhaps then he would not be laying in a pathetic mess, a heap of fur and skin and not much else, begging for another pup to save him. He was no heir, and would never have been counted as such in the oceanic pack, but because of his connections, he would have at least been safe and taken care of. Kershov perhaps would have found for him some advantageous marriage and plopped him in another pack. Or, perhaps, if his lineage to Kahlan was delved out perhaps he would have been set on the path of a healer, put under the scrutinizing tutelage of Macaria, his very cousin despite their age difference. But his mothers Kahlan and Kirastasia had been very careful in who their pups had been introduced to, and thus he knew no other family than to his mothers and his siblings. But his siblings... they were gone, disappeared from the den, Dragan all but forgotten, thus leading him here, begging for the kindness of a stranger.

Once he has ascertained that this stranger had no intention of harming him, at least for now, Dragan rolled over but still did not have the courage to stand. The last stranger that he had ran into after all had pulled him to her breast only to bite her. It had been the oddest thing ever - she had actually drank his blood, his tiny frame small enough so that her two canines had been wide enough to dip into his jugular furrow, encompassing him wholly. There had been a moment of pain when her teeth had sunk through his flesh, but afterward, there had been a sort of odd feeling that had rushed through him… Almost… Euphoria. How was he to know, an unlearned pup, that it likely came from delirium from blood loss? But the words that she had spoken to him afterward had set such a whole slew of things in motion, for she had then proclaimed that she had needed him, that he had helped her. And if that wasn’t the best feeling in the world… He did not know what was. Still, he was a bit terrified of her and others like her, and after all he still was an orphan in need of a home, a sanctuary...

Dragan.. I don’t have any food with me.. um.. nor have i.. been able to hunt.. but.. i know where berries are, i think, and i know where some little fish are that we can eat. but for now, i think we should stick with berries. i'd rather not be in the dark fishing. we can find someplace to take cover for the night.. i don't like the dark..c'mon dragan.. we'll stick together ok? let's go find something to eat.

When the other pup had risen, Dragan had cowered backward slightly, timid even by the standards of all other pups. But then his new friend had nuzzled him, urged him to stand, and Dragan had hesitantly stood up on his paws, wobbly, trembling, weak. For a second, he stood completely still as the remainder of his blood rushed to his head, but then Dragan managed to regain his balance, and nodded silently in response to everything the other varg had said. He had been forced to trot a few steps here and there and order to keep up with the other pump. Though both young, Dragon was smaller still, and between that along with shifting his gaze at the world around them and getting distracted with every step, he kept falling behind.

Suddenly, his friend had gotten excited and yelled out ’berries!’ before picking a few off of the branch and urging Dragan to eat them. At first, the pup was hesitant, but as he neared the bush he, too, smiled. “Lingonberries!” why had he not thought of eating berries? Especially these, considering all of their properties that his mother had taught him about. He swallowed a few and then paused, his lips moving silently as he slid over their uses silently. antioxidant. Anti-inflammatory. Aids in gut health. Dragan then ate to his heart’s content when he was done, the recitation of the rrote memorization having an immediate and strange calming effect on him as it reminded him of his slumbering mother. A purr of contentment slipped between his crimson stained lips and he leaned into his new friend, thankful beyond words.
