give up your heart, surrender, 'cause I am the hunter

Osiris was most likely treading on thin ice. He knew he should probably cut the jabs and teasing and just shut up for once in life. Yet, he also knew that this could be the one and only time he ever got to meet his father, or at least the fairy that provided for half of his genetic makeup. Plus, Osiris had genuinely never been great at keeping his mouth shut.

Still, he didn't want Mallos to completely think he was a scumbag who took advantage of injured people just to get in some good jokes.

He peered over at Mallos' familiar, catching the way her expression turned smug before it flickered for a brief moment. Woof, there must be some deep tension between these two. He moved his gaze back to Mallos as he caught him shifting his position to sit upright, fully prepared for a seething remark to come flying right into his face. Instead, he was met with a pause and Osiris could only venture to guess that it had everything to do with his words.

For once, he wisely chose not to say anything else, putting all of his focus and attention upon his healing magic as he worked to help put his broken father back together, phsyically at least. He didn't bother to look back up towards the Original until he took a shaky breath. The words and the expression were not warm and welcoming, but Osiris hadn't necessarily expected them to be. He is fairly certain this would not have been the ideal meet up for Mallos either.

"You're right, ya know?" His words are a loud whisper as his head drops back to the cuts and wounds that decorate his father's body. "I could have come to you and introduced myself..." His eyes close briefly before he lets out a small sigh."In fact, I should have. I wanted to. I really did, but I was scared. I didn't want to risk being objected by a father I so desperately wanted to know. I didn't want to end up as some disappointment to you, some random child you had no intention of getting to know. I was afraid of you...and I never gave you a chance." He offers a small shrug of his shoulders before his eyes finally move up to meet Mallos'. "For whatever it's worth, I'm sorry it took me so long. And I'm sorry that this" he gestured at the scene before them, "had to be our first proper meeting."

His head falls back down to his work and he shakes his head slightly. "You don't need my permission, but if you want to leave as soon as you are all patched up, I won't hold it against you." He pauses, collecting his thoughts before turning his head up, a warm smile upon his face. "But if you want to stay, or ever want to return, I can make a wicked cup of coffee and can tell a good story."
